San Diego, Padre?

Donna observed that my last post was brief, and offered that I must have been tired. It was, and I was. I think over time the “short post” will be the norm rather than the exception, born of mixed blood: ½ tired and ½ don’t want to overstay my welcome.

Tonight will follow that theme.

In January 2006, early in the long and distinguished reign of the Kodak Z740, I had to go on a business trip. Good news #1, I could bring Donna. Good news #2, the meetings were held at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, on Coronado Island* across the San Diego Bay from…wait for it…San Diego.

I had never been. Since then, I have been, several times. And it easily rates in the top three of my favorite cities.

Anywho…there are quite a few stories about that trip, and subsequent trips. Many might even be reasonably entertaining: touring the USS Midway (above), visiting the San Diego Zoo, watching the sun set off Point Loma (below) after visiting the New Point Loma Lighthouse (below), spending quality time touring the Gaslamp Quarter (no photos from that, thankfully. Hello, Hard Rock Cafe…).

But, as you may have surmised, it’s late, and I’m tired. Remind me sometime to tell you a story or two.
