I listen to the Nerdist Podcast, hosted by Chris Hardwick and team. I learned of its existence late in 2015, which is several years after it was first launched (2010). Due to what HAS to be some sort of documented personality quirk, I didn’t want to start with the most recent episodes: I wanted to “get a feel” for the show.
So I surfed. There are over 800 episodes. Which guest would be my first? This was no easy task.
Somewhat randomly, I landed on episode 443, released November 25, 2013, with Chris Hadfield. If you do nothing else here (or, at least for the next 1:07), go listen. It’s fascinating.
Since then…I’ve caught up to episode 531 with Tom Cruise, released June 6, 2014. Listened to a ton…skipped quite a few too. In future posts, I’ll likely reference more listens and skips. The listens…well, they are the reason you are reading this now.
Meandering to my point…it’s late already. I am not well disciplined about a reasonable bedtime. Most frustrating about the mornings I wake up with not enough sleep? That it was for NO THING. One more episode of Gotham deleted from the DVR? Pshaw.
So, I decided to do a thing. Cruise and Hardwick talked about doing a thing in episode 531, and Commander Hadfield talked about doing a thing in episode 443. In between, so did Jon Lovitz, Aaron Eckhart, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Will Arnett, Willam Shatner, Alex Trebeck.
This is a thing. There are many like it, but this one is mine. As I move along, it may look many different ways. But I hope you won’t mind checking it out every once in a while.
